Summary: ThispaperaimstoinvestigatethecentralityoftheroleofactionintheethicalprojectofthemoralambiguityanddefendthehypothesisthatitisthebackboneofSimonedeBeauvoir`sthought,thatis,itisastructuringmethodologythatappearsinherworksinvariousgenres.Tothisend,wewillfollowtheitineraryoftheconstructionofthismethodologystartingfromthreetextsinwhichthemethodiscentrallydeveloped:herfirstphilosophicalessay,PyrrhusandKynes(1944),inwhichthedevelopmentofthecentralnotionofsituationalreadyappears;then,herfundamentalphilosophicaltext,Foramoralofambiguity(1947),inwhichBeauvoirdevelopsthephenomenologicalapparatusforinterpretingtheexistentialconditionofambiguity;and,finally,MoralIdealismandPoliticalRealism(1945),thepoliticaltextoftheinterregnumbetweenthetwophilosophicalessayscitedabove,inwhichBeauvoirdelvesintotheconflictsgeneratedfromtheproblemofambiguity,morespecificallytheconflictbetweenidealismandrealism,andsketchesoutthethoughtofanon-normativeethicspracticableinthepost-warperiodwithoutfallingbackonanybad-faith exit.
