Summary: This work aims to analyze the use that Lacan performs in the Seminar: Book 12 is about the theory of Stoic lekton which references the significant as bearer of desire for the subject of psychoanalysis. Lacan says that the stoics were the led to the extreme point of perfection for the Theory of Significant. Thereby, Lacan pretends to demonstrate that the significant operated by psychoanalysis is not exclusively linguistic. With the resurgence of stoic logic in the twentieth century, especially in France, Lacan finds in the stoic lekton the possibility to demonstrate that language has dual way: what is expressed in a sentence, and the way of subject of desire.
