Summary: This dissertation examines the relationship between emotion and morality through the lens of
Jesse Prinz’s emotionism and Friedrich Nietzsche’s genealogical method. It investigates the
ways in which emotions participate in the constitution of moral values and how genealogy may
function as a critical tool within Prinz’s philosophical program. The study also opens space for
a reflection on moral flourishing, understood as a process of emotional recalibration situated at
a biocultural interface, in which biology and culture (nature–nurture) mutually influence and
co-determine one another.
